Facilities for people with disabilities in the airport

All airports will have their own facilities for people with disabilities and additional needs. The code of practice for access to air travel for disabled people may be found at:

Tryb4uFly: is a service for disabled children and adults in the UK. Tryb4uFly provide a number of services including in cabin assessments, information about flying with a disability, support to plan your trip and equipment hire to make your journey easier. Meru: TravelChair is a unique chair that provides firm, postural support enabling disabled children to fly on commercial aircraft. The TravelChair fits into a standard airline seat giving firm, postural support for disabled children whilst they travel by air. It is suitable for disabled children from 3 – 11 years. It is available to hire from Tryb4uFly.

Most airports in the UK offer a Special Assistance Service for disabled passengers and passengers who have mobility problems. It can also help to contact their airline that you are travelling with beforehand to find out if they can offer you any additional support and assistance.
